Heat burn

A heat burn can happen in seconds, from a hot drink, stove, hair straightener, or even friction from playground equipment. Knowing what to do straight away can make a big difference in how well the burn heals and how much pain your child feels.

In this short video, we’ll walk you through exactly what to do if your child burns their hand, step by step. You’ll learn:

  • How to cool the burn safely and quickly using running water.

  • What to do if there are blisters or clothing stuck to the skin.

  • How to protect the burn and comfort your child while you wait for help.

This video is educational in nature and does not constitute for medical advice. It is part of The Sisterhood Project’s First Aid Learning Series, created to help families feel calm and confident in an emergency.
